Videoconferencing is being used by all forms of government worldwide. The use of this technology enables leaders to speak in a one on one setting or to a group without the issues involved in travel. Most government agencies use top level encryption to protect these calls from any audio, video, or data tapping. Once a connection has been encrypted and the link has been established, security can rest and let the participants begin their call. This method of communication can be vital to leaders especially when dealing with hostile nations. Videoconferencing allows meetings to take place anywhere in the world, keeping it's participants on approved or more secure territory. We have all heard stories of government spending abuse, videoconferencing is also used for it's cost saving ability. During a videoconference charge such as flight charges, increased security, accommodations, not to mention time lost and multiple all this for the number of representatives. The charges are astronomical. Not always does using the technology have to be for a world leader. In fact governors, senators, even the President can use this equipment to have lectures and even make a virtual trip into schools nationwide to visit youngsters. With today's technology there is no limits.
